We wanted to have a party to go with the release of our second single. It came out on the 17th and our party is on the 28th. 11 days late. Thats a pretty good representation of the organisation skills within the SC. Don't matter though cos its gong to be skill. And its free.
First up we have Shimmy Rivers and and Canal We saw them play with Calvin Johnson in Northampton back in the summer and it was really great. Proper good indie pop with a bit of Jazz. Like Beat Happening crossed with Ludus or something.maybe.anyway, If they were from New York or LA they'd be all over the NME and Pitchfork.tv and stuff but thats just the way it goes. See them play at 9.15pm
Then we have a turn from ex Tiger Force/ex SC keyboardist Andy Boom under the guise of Tin Can Telephone. I saw them live for the first time the other week and they're really great. They keep all the charm of Andy's home recordings but have loads more life and tons of drumming.'Cemetery Song'in particular is really great live. They'll be on at 10pm
Then its our go. We might play our new song. It's called 'Pull the House Down' and it might be the best thing we've done. We'll possible play it some time after 10.45pm
In amongst all that we have DJ sets from You, Me and Him, Gold Panda (check his remix of Lost Art further down this page) and a disco set from ACTH till 1am.
P.S. Here's the video for the Lost Art single which you can buy on 7" vinyl from our myspace.
P.P.S the party is at the Wilminton Arms this Friday from 8.30pm till 1am i think. That sort of information should really be on the flyer. Its not. I'm not sure why. We'll fix that....
